“Not wanting to come across as the excitable fan who doesn’t know what to say I promptly tapped Tom on the shoulder and introduced myself. Now normally I would expect someone of his stature and status to be complete douche and not have time for people cornering him in a club, but I couldn’t have met a more humble or genuinely loveable character. After finding out I was from KOKO he promptly apologised about last night’s shenanigans and assured me that he didn’t want to miss CLUB KOKO but the band didn’t have any say in the matter – it was the powers that be. After apologising again and posing for the standard fan photo (the one of me and Tom throwing gang signs was obscured by a fat thumb error) Tom headed back over to his VVIP section where the rest of the band were larging it up. After all the blood, sweat and tears lost in bringing you Bangkok’s finest outfit THE STANDARDS alongside arranging an exclusive sneak preview of DESERTERS new album ‘Goodbye Oblivion’, KOKO Asia is proud to announce that the second installment of its counter culture shenanigans will take place this Friday 14th August at Barsonic, Zouk.
Off the back of the success of our last event, this time KOKO Asia will be bringing all you Barsonic faithful a SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE from one of the biggest names in the business for you to celebrate the arrival of the weekend with. That’s right – it’s not just anyone you’re going to be spilling your drinks over, shuffling into on the dance floor and have eying up your missus – this time KOKO goes global with an unmissable photo op.
But we can’t stop there – so back by popular demand we are once again flying in SIMON SUBSONIC to cater for all your debauching ear drum needs with the latest guitar riddled tracks and newest electro beats from the sunny shores of the blighty. Simon has another huge summer ahead playing at some of the UK’s biggest festivals (Reading and V) and is in prep mode to be spinning alongside some of the biggest names in the game like Oasis, Kings of Leon, The Killers, Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead to quote just a few. Gearing up for some of his biggest performances yet, Simon will be throwing out the summer’s biggest anthems on the Barsonic masses to give everyone a taste of that UK festival flavour.
Yet again the darlings of the KL indie scene and everyone’s favorite foursome TWILIGHT ACTION GIRL will be taking to the hallowed wheels of steel to cater for everyone’s weekend windup.
Once more piecing the whole night together will be KOKO Asia’s very own orchestral prophet JOHNNY MAYO who simply has nowhere else to go and nothing more productive to do than give you the biggest new rave anthems so cutting edge they could be delivered by ninjas.
Expect us….
